Usana, Herbalife... So many to chose? Should we Detox our bodies ? Multivitamins?

I have had a lot of people asking me about multivitamins and detox systems. The names that came up more frequently were Usana , Herblife & Metagenics. To Start off, multivitamins are for people having a hard time eating properly and/or not eating at all.

The facts remain that all these vitamin supplement companies make their products with  a pourcentage of daily requirement of vitamins higher than 100% of what the body actually needs. At the end, the toxicity of your body might be the results of over supplementing your nutrition. For example, Usana Essentials has 11 out 13 vitamins with over 100% of the daily requirement. If you do take any brands mentioned above, shop on EBAY, AMAZON as there are overpriced. See a nutritionist ... yes a NUTRITIONIST NOT a sales rep for these companies about a balanced diet which can include a multiviatmin.

As for detox systems, Some people may need to detox their bodies but there are many other factors to check before doing this step:

1- Your Metabolic type
2-Stress
3-Circadian Health ( Sleep)
4-The Times that you eat
5-Digestive System

& FINALLY  Detoxifications!

DETOX SYSTEM and fasting Diets ... Here what Professionnals say about that:

That's what has nutrition experts sounding the alarm over possible risks from lengthy or repeated fasts. Vitamin deficiencies, muscle breakdown and blood-sugar problems — not to mention frequent liquid bowel movements — are some of the seriously unpleasant drawbacks to these plans, which are skimpy on solid foods and often call for laxatives.

“Long-term fasts lead to muscle breakdown and a shortage of many needed nutrients,” says Lona Sandon, a Dallas dietitian and spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association. Depriving the body of the vitamins and minerals we get fromfood can "actually weaken the body’s ability to fight infections and inflammation,” she says.

I hope this help you and feel free to ask more questions on any topic ... thks ;)
