THE SECRET TO HIP PAINS LIES IN LEFT LEG ASSESSMENT
Hi guys, and welcome back to another great little Chronicle of the Stretching Samurai. Today we are going to talk about a very popular subject, hip pains due to joint mobility issues.
Let me start by saying that often the problem is not that severe. Like all great synthesizers, I love to test out theories and come out with many conclusions. There are many ways to look at a lack of mobility in the left hip.
First, I would start by assessing if there's a lateralization of the hip to the right side present in my client. Assessing, you will see the left foot externally rotated and possibly the left shoulder higher on the left side. At this point,i see three different possibilities.
Number one, there's a lack of T-spine Mobility that needs to be addressed. A good exercise that I recommend to my clients is to do is the Lucky 7 release. The exercise consists of mobilizing each vertebrae with activator balls.
Number two, there's a possibility of capsule tightness on the left hip. I recommend a capsule stretch a weight plate or a blue stability foam.
Last but not least, I will work on regaining balance between phasic and tonic muscles of the left hip (mainly the adductor group of the left side). The routine also consists of exercising the hip using pulled back exercises strengthening the sacroiliac ligament on the left side.
For more information on all these exercises, simply type in the name of the exercise on my YouTube channel "STRETCHING SAMURAI". Always a pleasure to write for you guys and see you next time. GOD BLESS
