Here is why training your rotator cuff is so important: a good example would be the bench press exercise. Sometimes we lack the ability for strength improvement, so here is a little tip of advice for all of you seeking an increase in strength. Stabilizers (Rotator cuff )of the main muscle worked in the bench press exercise ( Pectorals) have a higher count of muscle spindles. Muscle spindles check the speed of contraction and how fast you can generate power from that muscle.
So in a nut shell, if you have weak stablizers the brain will not want to increase neuromuscular response. This is why the weaker and more unstable side always has a hard time following the strong side. So if you think you are going to have a bigger bench by using machines and short changing the your rotator cuff's....guess again! That is why some of the strongest gymnast in the world that never benched can bench 315pds when we struggle to achieve it!
